First points for the 2s!
Wild, wet and windy weather meant that both XIs matches were cancelled last Saturday. It’s a shame because we had two strong sides ready to go. Never mind, we’ll keep our powder dry for May. Next up is Japan Cup [Anton]

The season opened with the 1st XI blasting through a middle order fightback to beat Rising Stars by a healthy 28 runs. No such luck for the 2s though. Facing KKR’s 1st XI, we never got going with the bat but took a few wickets defending our small total. Good signs though. [Anton]
Cricket is back, and we’ll be kicking off the new season with a friendly vs MIB this weekend, several new players and even a new Webmaster, Andre! We’ll be busy on Twitter with match feeds and results so stay tuned [Anton]
Ash Thurgate smashed a 50 ball century today for MY-Ys Under 19s. 10 X 4s, 9 x 60’s, so just 6 runs to trot up and down the wicket. Very relaxing afternoon. Great stuff Ash and congratulations! [Anton]
The Sharks were just on the wrong side of a very close result in the JCLT20 Grand Final. A very solid demolition of Falcons in the Semi put us in good stead but Paddy’s just clipped us in the Final with a ball to spare. Good effort Sharks! [Anton]
A tidy performance saw us defeat the much fancied Tigers by 4 wkts. Tight bowling from Ash (2/23) and Doogs (2/11) scuttled the Tigers for 104. Ibby (28) and Takady (39) set up the final over for Muneeb (10*) to smack the winning runs over the rope on the 5th ball. Great job Sharkies. [Anton]
A masterful half century from the skipper Takady saw the Sharks demolish the Rhinos and secure a spot in the JCLT20 Quarter finals where we’ll face the Tigers. Honorable mentions too for Atiq who hit a fluent 35 and Ibby who bagged another 3 wickets. [Anton]
A bumpy season so far sees the Sharks finish July in some style with a comprehensive victory over arch rivals the Tokyo Wombats in JCL1. Doogs starred with the bat with an epic century. Well done all. [Anton]
Our season opened with a high scoring loss in the Japan Cup to Rising Stars. Tanmoy and Atiq dominated with the bat but a little bit of rust and a shedload of wides made the chase easier for the Stars. Many positives though including 5 new players on show. [Anton]
No less than 15 Sharks of various vintages took advantage of the excellent facilities at Akai Farm to bat and bowl a few cobwebs away. Lots of quality on display; Freddy’s pace bowling, Hiro’s sharp batting, Anton’s splendid belly. Good prospects for the coming season. [Anton]
