The 1st XI’s triumph over the Wyverns and the Super Seconds valiant rear guard action against the Tigers are the latest offerings from the pens of Marcus and Atharva. Good matches often bring out good reports and these two are a case in point. Thanks guys. [Anton]
The Wonderful 1s put a couple of recent selection headaches behind them to notch up a comprehensive victory over the ever-tricky Wyverns. Supers 2nds hope to follow up this Sunday. [Anton]
Crikes! What a weekend! Not only did the 2nd XI dispatch Wyverns with a clinical display in the field, not only did the JCup side see off Rising Stars, but the Chiba My-Ys, short-handed, accounted for both opponents at the U19 tournament too. Can’t get any better than that. Well done all. [Anton]
After the 1st XI’s solid victory, new Captain Neel lead his brigade of youths and crumbling geriatrics to a fine victory over a sparky Sano 2nd XI. A big knock from Davo backed up with quality bowling, catching and keeping saw us over the line with 92 runs to spare. Great start Sharkies! [Anton]
The 1st XI are on fire! It was crash, bang and wallop at Sano 3 as Sharks boundaries and Paddy wickets came in flurries on Saturday. A ton for the Captain backed up by a valiant crew, with all 3 on debut performing well too. A perfect start? Well….yes. [Anton]
Congratulations to young Sharks Takady, Marcus, Rui, Muneeb, Arata, Waki and Tommy on being selected for the 2018 Japan National Squad. Your fellow Sharks salute you all. [Anton]
As the club is now deep into its second decade of existence, the Honours boards have required a bit of expansion to accommodate the 2017 winners and all of the other previous winners, as well as create a bit of room for the next few years too. Take a look under the About > Honours tab above. [Anton]
Season’s Greetings to you all. Preparations for the new season are already underway. We’re looking forward to welcoming so new players for a successful 2018 campaign. First up though is January’s AGM. Check the Forum for details. [Anton]
Both JCL 1 and 2 were good, testing competitions for us this year. We played very well on occasion and not so well at other times but both XIs grew in experience and in match sense through the 2017 season which was again, dotted with some great moments of individual skill. Otsukare Sharks!! [Anton]
We may not have been playing last weekend but four Sharks turned out, in smart trim, to fill a busy period of umpiring requirements. Big thanks to CT & Mahesh who went to Fuji and Adit &Molloy who took care of business at Sano. [Anton]
