Pitch Report: This ground is sometimes used for Chiba Cup matches and is a pleasant looking, convenient place. However, Port Park requires a Flicx pitch rolled out on rather lush, uneven grass and is held in place with long nails. As with all such pitches the ground below governs the way the pitch plays and generally speaking the pitch here plays pretty poorly. Intermittent low bounce is often mixed with exaggerated seam movement resulting in a very low scoring matches. This is in spite of the short boundaries which reward most shots out of the middle of the bat with a 4. [Anton]
Facilities: There are public toilets and running water in the park as well as vending machines with soft drinks. There are convenience stores close by as well so one doesn’t have to pre-pack all sustenance as with the deserts of Sano or Fuji.
