Pitch Report: Hamano is a spacious, bright, well appointed indoor facility with an artificial turf surface reminiscent of that at YCAC. Unlike Kashiwa, there is adequate length for bowlers to get a decent run up and for the wicket keeper to stand in authentic positions. The pitch itself plays somewhat like the Fuji 2 pitch in that it is two paced. Most fast balls will keep low while some more looping deliveries can rear up but not with any great menace. In this aspect it is ideal preparation for Fuji matches. Top notch spinners can get the occasional ball to turn dramatically otherwise slowies should expect little help from the surface. As the air gets a little stuffy the ball will swing quite markedly but short deliveries here are punished with minimal effort, so keep it up to the batsman. [Anton]

Facilities: There is a changing room with showers and lockers in the main reception but you can take all of your gear to the pitch. There are drinks machines dotted about the complex and a convenience store on the way from the station. There’s also ample parking if you are coming by car. Smokers have their own little area in the car park with no less than 4 ashtrays.
