Hats off to KB and Kazu for taking care of our umpiring commitment up at Sano at short notice. Oddly enough, KB watched our JCup draw and then umpired a draw. A pair of draws for the season! [Anton]
What a match! We kept Tsukuba to a modest 106 and then collapsed early on in the reply. The young guns in the middle order and tail put a great effort in and sassy running earned us the draw. Full report soon. [Anton]
The JCL1, JCL2 and Japan Cup campaigns get underway soon and we are set for a super busy April. We have no less than 6 matches and umpiring commitments as well. Please check out the Forum and sign up for as many matches as you can. [Anton]
A great day out up at Sano on Sunday! Many thanks to the Tokyo Rhinos for making it up North for 2 well fought friendlies. Rhinos won the first and the Sharks the second. Lots of great play on display. [Anton]
Every season starts with a slew of meetings and this season is no different. Coming up we have the EKCA AGM followed by the JCA Umpiring Meeting. More to come too. Try to attend at least one for the club. Sign ups are in the Forum [Anton]
Our final training session of the year takes place at Akai farm this Sunday and it looks like we’ll have 15 or so! A great turnout with a mix of wrinkled veterans and the new crop of junior Sharks and some new members too. Should be fun. [Anton]
Congratulations to everyone again on a very successful 2018 Season. A particularly hearty slap on the back to everyone who won our club awards and trophies. Their names have been added for eternity to the Honours Boards which you can check under the About tab above. [Anton]
The Japan Cup National Finals kick off tomorrow with the Sharks facing Ind. Engineers, Kinki and the Uni XI in the Round Robin and then who knows after that. We’ll be playing short a couple of days too but that’s how we roll in the Japan Cup! Updates on FB. Come on you Sharkies!!!! [Anton]
The 1st XI did a 10 wicket demolition job on a shell-shocked Alpha Quashers to advance to the JCL Grand Final for the first time in many years. Well done everyone! The job is half done though. One more big win over the Mighty Max and we are there! [Anton]
