Congratulations to Taniyama’s Uni XI who wrestled the Chiba Cup away from the Sharks on Saturday, despite some great performances from Pav, CT and Ashley. It was a good match played in a good spirit. Report soon [Anton]
Many thanks to Paul Grant for keeping our Stats in order this season. The final JCL1, JCL2 and T20 Shark Stats are now available through the Statistics tab above. Some fine performances are in there; two tons, some 5fers and a bucketful of 50s. Bravo Sharkies! [Anton]
Seven Sharks honed their batting, bowling, fielding and dropping skills in a useful session at Akai Farm on Saturday. Yu bowled some absolute beauties, Molloy’s drives looked imperious and KB got wet so all in all, a good afternoon’s action. [Anton]
Congratulations to the Sharks own Umpire In Chief Chris Thurgate. He has been selected to Umpire a women’s qualifier in Hong Kong. Enjoy the lovely HK tropical heat CT. [Anton]
The My-Ys, containing a healthy amount of Junior Sharks, overcame a quality Uenomiya HS side to claim the Japan U-19 Trophy on Monday. Congratulations to the players, the Thurgates and to Ishimoto san for organising the whole thing. [Anton]
Our JCL Season ended at the claws of the Tigers this weekend. The 1st XI were defeated on Saturday and the 2nd XI on Sunday. It’s been a great season though with the 1sts finishing top of the League and the 2nds flourishing in JCL2. Otsukare all. [Anton]
We have added a couple more training sessions to fill in the gaps in the busy Sharks calendar, one for August and one for September. There is much more room and bounce at Akai Farm which has helped the sessions to be very effective thus far. Sign up now available in the Forum. [Anton]
A youthful Sharks 1st XI demolished Paddy Foley’s up at Sano on Sunday. Big performances all through the team from both young and, from both male and female. Report soon. [Anton]
Many thanks to Asala and Dhugal for volunteering to umpire the Tigers vs Wombats match on Saturday. Unfortunately the match was rained off. Both umpires were no doubt inconsolable. Thanks again guys. [Anton]
