Pitch Report: Togane uses a Flicx pitch rolled out on quite lush grass and is held in place with long nails. Like many Flicx pitch batting tracks, the bounce is governed, to an extent, by the surface underneath. After wet spells the turf can be very soft producing a pitch where the bounce can stay very, very low but not regularly so. Either way it’s a track that rewards the player who gets forward. The outfield is fairly quick but is so soft that it is a joy to field on. However, there are two baseball dirt areas in the corners of the ground and a well-timed shot through these areas is an almost certain four.[Anton]
Facilities: There are toilets and running water inside the ground but you have to change in the gardener’s shed in the car park. Two metal shelters are also set up within the ground and offer ample seating and respite from sun and rain. There is a supermarket just down the road for supplies but it’s best to pick something up at the station beforehand. You can take a shower in the main building after the game but bring a towel and soap. Please note that alcohol and smoking are expressly forbidden inside the venue. Smokers should go outside the ground to find an ashtray and drinkers should wait until the team has left the venue.
